EFCM 50th Anniversary Celebration Day

We thank God for seeing us through the celebration in remembering His faithfulness and goodness over these years. Even though there were many parties involved and things to do, we did not have any major or untoward incident throughout the celebration. Thanks to you all that came to help and support the event especially in selling the T-Shirts. Here are some pictures to remember the day. Greater things are yet to come!

EFCM 50th Anniversary Celebration

This is the final week before the Free Churches of Malaysia celebrates her Golden Jubilee! Whilst we may belong to one of the smallest denomination in the country, we have a history and many reasons to celebrate God's goodness and faithfulness over all these years! So as we come together this Saturday (Oct 26), our prayer is that the various churches will get to know each other better and learn to partner with each other for the greater work of God.

There are some interesting messages in the afternoon open event at PJEFC starting from 1.30 to 5.00 pm. We have as our special guest speakers, Rev. Edmund Chan speaking on "When Your Dream is Yet Unfulfilled" and Rev. David Wong speaking on "Writing Life's Next Chapter". Both speakers are experienced pastors and authors from Singapore.

 

During the night dinner, we have a special programme including  special guest, Rev. Allen Tunberg, a former EFCA missionary to Malaysia, who will be sharing on "Three Qualities That Makes You Shine". For more information please visit the EFCM website.

On our part, we will be selling the Anniversary T-Shirts to raise money for the EFCM Medical Fund for Full-time workers. May the Lord be pleased as we continue to do our part in supporting the work that God has entrusted to us until the end. So let's celebrate!

Supporting the Medical Fund

One of the great needs for people today is in the medical area especially when faced with a major illness. This is even more critical for those that serve the church in a full-time capacity like pastors. Sometimes they may not have adequate medical insurance cover especially when they are retired or do not have access to additional savings or funds. It can be more difficult when not many people outside their church know them and their own family cannot help them.

As a result the national body of the Free Churches called the Evangelical Free Church of Malaysia (EFCM) recently started a Medical Fund. All full-time workers affiliated with EFCM like pastors, both current and retired, can apply to this fund for help. So as a member of this denomination, we like to do our part in raising funds for such a worthy cause. But what can a small family church do with the limited resources available?

Well we decided to print some T-Shirts to sell in conjunction with the coming EFCM 50th Anniversary celebration on October 26! So if you want to support this good cause, come and purchase this beautiful Navy Blue T-Shirt. The front part is the official logo for the 50th Anniversary and the reverse side has the words "Let Your Light Shine". Sizes are currently available from S to XL. The price is only RM30 each!

 

Our Own Cardmakers!

On September 15 we organised a basic Card Making Workshop conducted by sister Betty Rode. Quite a number of you took part and made some cards. It is our hope that some of you will be inspired to pursue this further and make it into a ministry to encourage others with it! Here are the results of your handiwork.

Church Camp 2013

We just returned from Fraser's Hill for our Church camp. This year we did something different by having only internal speakers. Different people shared on how they managed life transitions. We thought it was good to hear different people at different stations of life to be able to share honestly what they had gone through or currently faced with. Thank you all for sharing honestly some of your stories. We trust that all these will help others to "Don't Stop Halfway!" (our theme) Here are some pictures taken during our time there.

New Members for 2013

Recently we welcomed officially seven new members to the church. It's been a while since we had any such ceremony to receive members. We like to thank them for their desire and commitment to identify with us as a family and to serve together for the glory of God. Please continue to pray for them and for others that the Lord may choose to add in the future.

Easter@Grace 2013

Easter or Resurrection Sunday is a very important event in the Christian calendar. It is the victory celebration of the Jesus Christ over death. Can the dead rise again? Yes! Jesus Christ did not only die like all humans will but came back to meet His disciples and proved to them that He was no ghost! We believe that He is still alive today. This year we will have our special Service on Sunday morning at 10.30 am with a special guest speaker, Mr. Jason Fong from Scripture Union.

Come join us to find out the reasons for the Christian's celebration. There is more to life than just "to eat, drink and be merry! For tomorrow we all die!" There is hope even after death!
